Who writes our content
Guides are written by the team behind TRTracker. Each page names its author, shows when it was last updated and says how it has been reviewed (see below).
Sources
We base guides on primary sources first: clinical practice guidelines (such as those of the Endocrine Society and the American Urological Association), FDA drug labels and peer-reviewed research. Each guide lists its sources in its Sources tab. Linking to an organisation does not mean it endorses TRTracker.
How each guide is checked
Before a guide is published, our editorial team checks every number, threshold and study result against the source it cites: the guideline text, the FDA label or the study itself, not a summary of it. Anything we can’t back from a source we can read is softened to what the source does say, or cut. Each page lists its sources in its Sources tab.
Medical review
We are still appointing a clinician to review our guides. Until a clinician has reviewed a page, its byline says “Sources checked by the TRTracker editorial team · Review by a clinician in progress”, and the page does not claim to be medically reviewed. We keep a list of the points we want a clinician to look at first for each guide.
Once a clinician has reviewed a page, the byline names them and their credentials and shows the date of their review. We will review core guides at least every 12 months after that, and sooner when guidelines change.
How we use AI
We may use AI tools to help research and draft. Every page is edited and fact-checked by a person against the cited sources before it is published. AI is never the final author of medical information on this site.
What we never do
We never recommend a dose, a change of injection frequency, an ancillary medication or a blood donation to manage results. We do not describe any testosterone level as “optimal” for you. Those decisions belong with your clinician.
Independence
Our guides, lab pages and tools contain no affiliate links. If we publish pages that compare online clinics and may earn a commission, every such page will say so at the top, clinics will be scored on a published method, and none of it will change how we write our medical guides.
The TRTracker app
We build the TRTracker app, and our pages mention it where it helps you keep a record. Every guide is useful without the app.
Corrections
If you spot an error, email privacy@trtracker.com with the page address. We review every report and correct factual errors promptly, updating the page’s date.
